Almost the entire city of Amritsar, except for the walled city and the airport, will undergo this blackout for nearly 30 minutes, as reported. These mock drills are part of a larger government initiative aimed at testing and strengthening the nation's response to potential external threats.
The government earlier conducted the first nation-wide civil defense drill to evaluate the readiness of vulnerable zones — however, today's drill is limited to six states and union territories.
